The Central Delta Depot Museum is housed in the Brinkley Union Train Station that was constructed in 1912. The train station is thought to be among the last examples in the state of a junction-type station, that is, one that was used by more than one railroad for passenger service.

The stately train station speaks of Brinkley’s early history as a railroad town and was the hub of commerce for half a century. In 1911, Brinkley hosted 10 Rock Island Passenger trains, 4 Cotton Belt passenger trains, 2 Arkansas Midland passenger trains and 2 mixed freight trains each day. Between World War I and World War II, 500 passengers passed through Brinkley each day. Activity began to slow after World War II. The passenger service ended in 1967, after which time the depot fell into neglect. It was renovated and reopened on May 10, 2003 by the Central Delta Historical Society of Brinkley, Arkansas.

The Central Delta Depot Museum displays a wide variety of exhibits relevant to the natural, social, agricultural, and cultural history of the Arkansas Delta. It is the creation of many dedicated volunteers with a commitment to preserving, documenting, and exhibiting materials that convey the rich history of the delta.
